About Us - Providing treatment, love & support to families affected by HIV/AIDS.
Keep a Child Alive believes that every person has the right to health care and that all children deserve a future. We support innovative, community-led responses that increase access to life-saving HIV treatment and care, nutritious food, and loving support for children and families living with and affected by HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and India.
The seed of Keep a Child Alive was sown in Kenya in 2002. Royalties from Leigh Blake’s previous fundraiser, Red Hot & Blue, built the AIDS Research and Family Care Clinic in Mombasa. A woman named Anne walked in to the clinic, desperate to obtain the anti-retroviral drugs her three-year-old son Brine needed to survive.
Keep a Child Alive believes the best way to serve those affected by HIV/AIDS in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and India is to focus on providing Treatment, Food, Orphan Care and a Future.
Part of Keep a Child Alive's extended family are our Board of Directors. Their expertise and consistent help continue to further our mission of saving lives through HIV treatment, care and nutrition in Africa and India.
The key difference at Keep a Child Alive is LOVE. The whole team feels genuine love, compassion and deep respect for each other, which we bring to our patients and to our purpose. Join us in our mission to keep children and families affected by HIV/AIDS alive.
We have internships throughout the year for students or recent graduates with a passion for ending the AIDS pandemic.
