Run With KCA At The 2018 TCS New York City Marathon
By: Steve Mendelsohn | February 12th, 2018
This past November, 51,394 resilient individuals from around the world crossed the finish line of the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon. And this year, on the morning of Sunday, November 4th, another 50,000+ will come together on Staten Island once again. If you’ve ever stood at the foot of the Verrazano Bridge, you’ll know how magical it is when you hear the gun go off and the blasting of Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York. It’s a feeling unlike any other.
The NYC marathon is one of the most desirable, and hardest marathons to get into, and if you haven’t already applied, the only way to participate now is with a charity. The great news? For the 4th year in a row, we’ll have a team running. 14 people ran with us in 2015 including our co-founder Alicia Keys and her brother Cole Cook (who also ran with us in 2017). Joining Cole last year were model Eniko Mihalik, Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, Duane McLaughlin, Jeffrey Schnabolk, and Ingrid Milkes. We have 5 open slots this year, and we’d be thrilled to have you on our team!
Why run with us?
You’ll make an impact. Over the years, we’ve raised more than $100,000 to support the 35 Million people living with HIV today. 2/5 are unable to access the treatment they need. You’ll raise awareness and much needed funds that will go towards the more than 89,000 people we serve annually in Africa and India. You’ll help ensure that there are no new infections, no barriers to treatment, and no discrimination. That children affected by HIV and their families will receive the quality of care they need and deserve so they can stay healthy and work toward their future. Added bonus: You’ll be getting healthier and more fit in the process!
Ready to run? Here’s what you need to know:
