Our Work - The programs we fund, & the reason we exist.

The Centreville Clinic (formerly The Icyuzuzo Clinic)

Kigali, Rwanda

As the Rwandan government continues to place a great emphasis on HIV/AIDS treatment and care, the need is still overwhelming. In partnership with Women's Equity in Access to Care and Treatment (WE-ACTx), Keep a Child Alive funded the scale-up of the Icyuzuzo Clinic, fulfilling the dreams of women and children in need of medical care, many of whom are survivors of the 1994 genocide. In 2009, the HIV/AIDS services that KCA made possible at Icyuzuzo, found a new home at the Centreville Clinic in Kigali. With KCA support, the Centreville Clinic currently serves 2,306 patients through comprehensive HIV care that includes medicine, food, mental health services and skills training. KCA's commitment to the patients at Centreville goes beyond the medical care they need to survive. We are dedicated to life beyond the pills - to helping our patients attain self-sufficiency and the ability to care for their families that they all desire. KCA proudly supports our patients in the Ineza Women's Cooperative, started by patients as a source of personal empowerment and economic development, who create the beautiful Ineza Tote Bags that are sold in our webstore.
