Hope Clinic

Previous Grant
Sikoro, Mali

Established in 2006, the Hope Clinic currently serves more than 30,000 people in the village of Sikoro, a slum outside of Bamako, Mali. KCA was pleased to help scale-up the Hope Clinic to become the first “village HIV clinic” model in the entire country, easing access to care for the thousands of HIV patients living in Sikoro and the surrounding area. The clinic has two new doctor’s offices, a new “day hospital” with eight beds for outpatient care, a new conference room, an on-site laboratory, and a private pharmacy for HIV patients. More than 2,130 people have been tested for HIV, and 35 babies have been born negative from HIV positive mothers thanks to their dual-therapy Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission medical care.
